Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its AI Enablement team, a newly formed group focused on accelerating engineering velocity through artificial intelligence and automation. In this role, you will act as a technical leader and subject matter expert, driving AI adoption across the engineering organization while building foundational platforms and tools that enable teams to integrate AI capabilities into their workflows.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing full-stack platforms that abstract AI services for internal use, experimenting with emerging AI tools and frameworks to identify high-leverage applications, and automating engineering processes such as code generation, testing, and deployment. You will mentor other engineers on AI-driven development practices, establish best practices for responsible AI enablement, and collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver production-ready solutions.
The role offers immediate impact—your first 90 days will involve tackling tangible projects that directly improve engineering productivity. You will have significant ownership over the tools and platforms you build, solving complex, open-ended problems that contribute to the company's growth.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of full-stack development experience, hands-on expertise with front-end technologies (React, TypeScript, Angular, Vue), and strong experience with AI/ML frameworks or platforms (PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, Claude, Gemini, Copilot). You should have proficiency in Python or Django, experience designing scalable databases, expertise with AWS services and infrastructure, and hands-on experience building REST APIs and GraphQL. Prior experience in high-growth environments and personal or professional AI experimentation are expected. The ideal candidate is excited about exploring new AI tools responsibly and finding ways to make engineering work smarter and more efficient.
