Anduril Industries is a defense technology company building advanced military systems powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system for real-time command and control. The Imaging team develops state-of-the-art infrared imaging systems deployed to address critical security challenges for the U.S. and its allies.
As a Senior Realtime Software Engineer, you will implement and deploy core real-time image processing software for infrared imaging systems. Your work ensures rapid fielding of new technologies to embedded, SWAP-limited hardware while maintaining security integration with complex defense systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Configure and develop Linux-based operating systems and terminal software
- Become an expert in Nix and NixOS, defining and implementing NixOS-based embedded systems
- Develop deep expertise in infrared sensor systems and existing image processing pipelines
- Build real-time, high-bandwidth processing pipelines in C++ and/or CUDA
- Design and implement test and simulation environments using software and hardware-in-the-loop methodologies
- Support end-to-end system delivery from design through manufacturing, deployment, and sustainment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on challenging problems in a fast-paced environment
Required qualifications: 5+ years of professional C++ development with GIT, JIRA, and CI/CD systems; experience with low-latency, high-throughput Linux software; firmware testing and debugging on hardware platforms; software infrastructure fundamentals (networking, security, distributed systems); ability to learn new technologies quickly; strong technical communication and documentation skills; eligibility for U.S. security clearance.
Preferred: Linux kernel development experience, proficiency in multiple languages (C, Rust, Python), graphics programming or image processing background.
