Rula is hiring a Senior Mobile Engineer to build and scale patient-facing mobile applications for mental health care. You'll own end-to-end delivery of features across iOS and Android using React Native, working closely with Product, Design, and backend teams to create intuitive, accessible experiences.
Key responsibilities include architecting and evolving mobile platform architecture, shipping production features from design through release and monitoring, improving engineering quality through testing and performance optimization, and mentoring junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing. You'll leverage AI-assisted development tools (Claude, etc.) while understanding both their acceleration benefits and limitations requiring human judgment.
Required: 5+ years software engineering experience with 3+ years building production mobile apps. 3+ years React Native, TypeScript, and modern React. Hands-on experience with native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java). Proven ability to own projects end-to-end, make technical tradeoffs, communicate rationale, and collaborate effectively across functions. Demonstrated mentoring capability and fluency with AI development tools.
Preferred: App Store/Google Play publishing experience, mobile CI/CD and automated release pipelines, AI/LLM-enabled mobile features, mobile observability tools (Datadog, Crashlytics, Sentry), and fast-paced startup experience.
