Re:Build Manufacturing, through its Optimation division, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead complex machine design projects from concept through completion. The role combines technical expertise with project management and business development responsibilities. You will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of major machine design projects and multi-disciplinary assignments. Responsibilities include serving as project manager for cross-functional teams, integrating engineering, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management. You'll design custom automation equipment, tooling, robotics, servos, and sensing systems for industrial applications using SolidWorks, and develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and visual documentation. Key technical deliverables include creating engineering design standards, performing complex calculations, overseeing drawing set preparation, and preparing multi-disciplinary project proposals and cost estimates. You'll develop detailed project plans and schedules using tools like Microsoft Project and Deltek Vision, while identifying and mitigating risks with consideration for financial factors. Beyond engineering, you'll engage in business development by meeting with existing and potential clients to identify opportunities, participate in client meetings and design reviews, and mentor junior engineers and project teams. You'll lead Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives, promote a strong safety culture, and stay current on emerging engineering methods and technologies. Travel to client sites, fabrication shops, and project locations is expected (up to 25%).
