Echodyne is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Test Development Engineer to design, develop, build, and optimize manufacturing test systems and procedures for compact solid-state radar products. The company specializes in beam-steering radar technology for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft, drones, and critical infrastructure security applications.
In this role, you will lead the development of new test systems used in production environments, working closely with design engineering, quality, IT, and production teams. You'll define radar manufacturing test requirements, design and implement test hardware and software for the production line, and support test systems throughout their full lifecycle—from development through implementation, scaling, and refinement.
Key responsibilities include selecting and evaluating test instrumentation, monitoring and analyzing test data to drive continuous improvement in yield and quality, creating documentation and training for production staff, and optimizing test strategy for efficacy and ROI. You'll also work with contract manufacturer partners to create and implement test processes, and provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) input during product development.
Required skills include proficiency with RF/microwave measurement methods and instruments (VNA/PNA, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters), Python programming, ability to design and deploy automated test systems, and hands-on experience with test fixtures and system acceptance procedures. You should be comfortable interpreting assembly drawings, schematics, and technical documentation, and have knowledge of computer/instrument communication protocols.
Desired experience includes SolidWorks or Altium CAD tools, 3D printing for prototyping, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), statistical analysis techniques, and data analysis tools like Minitab or JMP. This is a fast-paced role suited for detail-oriented engineers who thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about scaling manufacturing capabilities for advanced radar technology.
