Archer Technologies is an aerospace company building all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for sustainable air mobility. The company is scaling production of its High Voltage Electric Propulsion System (EPS)—the core of its aircraft—which includes high-voltage batteries, electric motors, propeller assemblies, and represents one of the most technically demanding, highly automated manufacturing systems in the factory. You will serve as the primary technical bridge between R&D product design and physical production execution. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role focused on taking complex electric propulsion hardware (stators, rotors, housings, gearboxes) from early-stage prototyping through repeatable, scalable mass production. Key responsibilities include: • Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Lead DFM/DFA initiatives with cross-functional teams (Product Design, Quality, Facilities) to optimize EPS manufacturability and assembly. • New Product Introduction (NPI) & Prototyping: Lead prototype build plans, execute process trials, develop custom tooling, and drive system builds through equipment qualification and production ramp-up. • Automation & Tooling Specifications: Define technical specifications for automation equipment, tools, and custom fixtures; manage vendor development through Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT). • Line Design & Manufacturing BOM: Develop comprehensive build plans including plant line layouts, optimized part flow, manufacturing methods, and accurate Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOM). • Quality & Process Control: Conduct PFMEAs, establish validation and calibration protocols, and author standardized work instructions to ensure zero-defect assembly. • Continuous Improvement: Monitor pilot line performance, drive Root Cause Corrective Actions (RCCA), and optimize cycle times for mass production readiness. You will thrive in high-ownership environments, applying structured engineering principles to solve complex manufacturing challenges under tight schedules across multiple aircraft programs.
