Salary: USD 160,000 - 246,400 / annual

Okta is seeking a Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing for Technology to lead the company's most complex, highest-value technology procurement initiatives. This role establishes operational objectives, policies, and work plans for the Technology category function while managing a team of Category Managers. Key responsibilities include: • Implementing strategic sourcing strategies across Technology categories (Software, Network, SaaS, IaaS, Telephony, AI) to optimize procurement, reduce costs, mitigate risk, and drive efficiency. • Developing 3–5 year rolling category strategies by collaborating with Technology stakeholders to translate long-term needs into operational sourcing strategy. • Developing and overseeing KPIs for Technology sourcing activities; strengthening and operationalizing sourcing and procurement processes and governance models to drive performance and continuous improvement. • Identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing decisions, process improvements, and high-stakes supplier negotiations; developing and tracking KPIs to measure savings and supplier performance. • Leading complex contract negotiations to ensure favorable terms, pricing, and SLAs; identifying and mitigating internal and external risks associated with Technology purchase transactions, including tech contract law and commercial terms. • Partnering with senior stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Security, Privacy, and Technology to align sourcing strategies with organizational needs. • Leading, mentoring, and developing a high-performing team of Category Managers; assigning and monitoring individual and team goals to drive accountability. • Building and maintaining strategic relationships with key Technology suppliers; acting as the primary point of contact for critical supplier issues. • Conducting market research and competitive analysis on Technology categories to identify potential suppliers, assess market trends, and lead supplier selection processes. • Supporting M&A activity from a Strategic Sourcing perspective, including contract novation and consolidation of Technology agreements. • Regularly updating senior leadership on Technology sourcing strategy progress, savings, supplier performance, and market trends in executive format. • Ensuring all Technology sourcing activities adhere to ethical standards, legal requirements, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week in office, based in either Bellevue, WA, or the San Francisco Bay Area. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred) • 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement with proven track record in a leadership role • Deep experience in Technology sourcing (Infrastructure, SaaS, Telecom, IaaS, AI, etc.) • Strong understanding of strategic sourcing methodologies, contract negotiations, supplier management, and cost optimization techniques • Deep understanding of tech contract law and commercial terms • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive leadership • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make data-driven decisions on ambiguous, undefined problems • Experience with procurement software and tools (Coupa, Workday Strategic Sourcing/Scout, SAP, Oracle, Ariba, etc.) and advanced Excel skills • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities and a team simultaneously Preferred Qualifications: • Broad experience across multiple technology categories and industries • Professional certifications such as CSCP, CPSM, or CPIM • Experience in SaaS industry leading a sourcing function • Prior managerial/leadership experience with direct reports
