Replit is seeking a Senior Manager of Business Development to build and lead a high-performing Business Development Representative (BDR) team as the company scales its go-to-market strategy. The role is central to Replit's revenue growth, focusing on outbound prospecting, pipeline generation, and team leadership across SMB to Enterprise segments.
In this position, you will build and scale a BDR organization from the ground up, developing outbound playbooks, prospecting processes, and best practices across cold and warm channels. You'll coach and mentor BDRs on qualification methodology, objection handling, and pipeline generation while maintaining accountability for team quota attainment and individual development. Cross-functional collaboration is critical—you'll partner closely with marketing, sales operations, and Account Executives to optimize lead routing, improve campaign effectiveness, and ensure smooth handoffs.
You'll own recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new SDR/BDR talent as the organization scales, while analyzing team performance data to drive continuous improvement in conversion rates and meeting quality. The role requires maintaining CRM hygiene, staying current on competitive landscape and industry trends, and evangelizing Replit's vision of democratizing software creation through natural language.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of sales development experience with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role, preferably with a technical ICP. You should have a proven track record building and scaling BDR teams in high-growth environments, strong individual contributor experience with both inbound and outbound prospecting, and excellent coaching and mentoring abilities. Data-driven performance management, outstanding communication skills, and proficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot/Salesforce) and sales tools (LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, Clay, Outreach, etc.) are essential. You must be able to recruit and assess SDR candidates effectively, collaborate cross-functionally, and have a genuine passion for technology and ability to learn complex technical concepts quickly.
Nice-to-have qualifications include being an active Replit user, prior experience at early-stage startups or in developer tools, experience building inbound SDR programs from 0-1, basic software development or coding knowledge, multi-channel prospecting experience, and a Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience. Strong interest in AI and machine learning is valued.
