As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer on the Platform Engineering team, you will be a key technical contributor responsible for building, scaling, and fortifying global cloud infrastructure designed to handle mission-critical, high-throughput payments applications with zero downtime. You will own core platform components powering payment systems and work collaboratively to execute infrastructure projects, uphold reliability standards, and maintain the multi-region AWS environment.
Key responsibilities include: building and optimizing high-availability AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code; reducing manual toil through automated solutions using GitOps, modern CI/CD pipelines, and IaC; configuring and maintaining observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry) to monitor performance and identify bottlenecks; participating in incident response on-call rotations and leading blameless post-mortems; partnering with Product, Security, and Core Engineering teams to support adoption of standardized developer workflows; mentoring junior and mid-level engineers; and maintaining high-performance, low-latency private connectivity for external customer traffic.
Required qualifications: 5+ years contributing to complex, large-scale distributed systems in mission-critical environments; solid hands-on proficiency in AWS and Terraform; hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and GitOps workflows (Flux, Argo, GitHub Actions); proficient coding/scripting in Python, Go, or Bash; hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry; and good understanding of cloud security, API Gateways, load balancing, and network isolation.
Nice-to-have skills include experience with tokenization, payment processing, or security products; BA/BS degree; experience with distributed data streaming platforms like Kafka (MSK); database performance tuning; and familiarity with Java/Spring Framework services.
