SpaceX's application software team is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join the Employee Experience group. This role is part of the central nervous system of SpaceX—building mission-critical applications used across the company to accelerate launch vehicle production, flight operations, and Starlink's growth as a global internet service.
You will own challenging full-stack problems end-to-end, working with a collaborative team of engineers to design and deliver solutions that directly enable SpaceX's goals. The team creates and evolves systems for rapid Starship build and reuse, next-generation manufacturing software for high-throughput Starlink factories, data platforms managing the world's largest satellite constellation, and public-facing customer systems. You'll work closely with engineers across SpaceX to adapt systems for crewed launches, Starship flights, network changes, and more.
Responsibilities include developing highly reliable software solutions, creating new applications that improve SpaceX operations, building prototypes to validate design concepts, owning all aspects of software engineering and product development, diving deep into user problems to find efficient solutions, and contributing to team discussions on architecture, design, and code reviews.
Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline plus 5+ years of professional software development experience (or 7+ years without a degree); 3+ years of professional full-stack development experience.
Preferred skills include proficiency in Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or similar object-oriented languages; 1+ years building single-page web applications; version control, CI/CD, and software systems design expertise; testing, deployment, and monitoring knowledge; application performance profiling; build systems (Make, Bazel, Gradle) and package management; UNIX-like operating systems and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet); in-stream data processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ); Docker and Kubernetes production experience; front-end frameworks (Angular, React); and database experience (PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
Note: Extended hours and weekend work may be required depending on launch cadence. ITAR requirements apply.
