Istari is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join the Deployment Services team within Customer Success. This role focuses on application-layer platform work supporting defense, aerospace, and commercial customers in regulated, security-sensitive environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Python automation and scripting for customer deployments
- Database operations and data migration tooling
- API integration and backend service configuration
- Building reliable automation tooling under time pressure
- Working directly with customers across AWS, Azure, GovCloud, on-premises Kubernetes, and air-gapped networks
- Collaborating with Senior Solutions Engineers on platform service delivery
The role owns the data and API layer while Solutions Engineers lead agent/module integration and graph database operations. You'll be responsible for writing migration scripts, managing database operations, configuring backend services, and integrating platform APIs.
Ideal candidates are strong Python developers with solid database and API experience, comfortable working directly with customers in complex technical environments, and capable of delivering reliable solutions under time pressure. Experience with regulated environments, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and Kubernetes is valuable. The ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to customers and work autonomously in a fast-paced setting is essential.
