Hilbert is a data science-first growth engine that uses AI to give B2C teams predictive clarity into user behavior, revenue drivers, and growth actions. The company serves Fortune 500 enterprises and iconic brands like FreshDirect, Blank Street, and Levain Bakery, helping them compress months-long decision cycles into minutes.
As a Senior Forward Deployed Data Engineer for LATAM, you will be a founding technical hire establishing Hilbert's presence across Latin America. You'll work directly with enterprise customers, solving complex data integration and architecture problems while helping shape how Hilbert builds and operates in the region.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the complete technical implementation of new enterprise customers across LATAM, from data discovery through production deployment
- Architect hybrid integration solutions, choosing between managed ClickHouse deployments or warehouse-native approaches (Snowflake, BigQuery)
- Build semantic layer definitions for custom enterprise data, ensuring AI agents have ground-truth context for reasoning
- Use Hilbert's internal Discovery Agent to accelerate onboarding, moving from raw customer data to production pipelines rapidly
- Transform diverse source data into Hilbert's unified growth models to power ML systems
- Act as lead technical resource for high-stakes enterprise implementations, optimizing performance within each customer's infrastructure
- Define technical processes, best practices, and operating models for LATAM as the team and customer base grow
- Travel regularly to work on-site with customers during onboarding, implementation, and key milestones
You'll be equally comfortable optimizing ClickHouse queries, writing native Snowpark or BigQuery SQL, and implementing data orchestration in Python. You understand that AI systems need semantic context, not just tables. You can earn the trust of customer Data Architects, translate their custom logic into Hilbert's reasoning engine, and operate effectively in early-stage environments where processes are still being established. You're excited about using and improving AI agents for data discovery and pipeline scaffolding, and you're comfortable working directly with enterprise customers across time zones.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Professional fluency in English and Spanish (required); Portuguese is a strong plus
- Demonstrated experience with modern data warehouses (ClickHouse, Snowflake, BigQuery) and their optimization strategies
- Proficiency in Python for data orchestration and SQL for warehouse-native modeling
- Experience with data integration tools (Dagster, Airbyte) or equivalent
- Ability to define and implement semantic layers and data ontologies
- Comfort working directly with enterprise customers on complex technical implementations
- Flexibility to travel regularly within LATAM and potential relocation as a regional hub is established
- Ability to work across time zones with US and European teams
BONUS EXPERIENCE:
- Deep expertise with dbt for warehouse-native modeling
- Experience with semantic layer frameworks (Cube, MetricQL)
- Background in e-commerce, retail, marketplaces, or consumer technology with understanding of revenue metrics, LTV, CAC, and attribution
- Experience building agentic workflows
- Early-stage startup experience or track record building new engineering functions or regional teams
