Hims & Hers, a NYSE-traded health and wellness platform, is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Growth Engineering team. You will oversee a talented group of engineers building and scaling web experiences that drive patient acquisition, engagement, and retention across the Hims & Hers platform.
A core focus of this role is GoFlow, the server-driven, node-based flow engine that powers the entire patient journey—from medical intake through treatment selection and checkout. GoFlow provides a shared, reliable foundation across all verticals (Weight Loss, Sexual Health, Hormone Health, etc.) while enabling each team to move quickly with branded experiences. You'll be a hands-on technical and people leader responsible for the architecture, reliability, developer experience, and next-generation roadmap of this mission-critical system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering innovation and continuous improvement
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities
- Collaborate with product, design, analytics, marketing, and telemedicine teams to define and execute growth strategies
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets; ensure on-time delivery within scope
- Facilitate agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and establish best practices
- Coach the team on industry standards and ways of working
- Balance quality assurance with delivery velocity in an agile environment
- Champion platform scalability, performance, and reliability improvements
- Anticipate business and industry challenges; recommend innovative solutions
- Manage multiple individual contributors and/or managers
Requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with proven track record leading teams in fast-paced, hyper-growth environments
- Expertise in modern web technologies: JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js, GraphQL, Node.js
- Demonstrated success building and managing high-performing engineering teams
- Strong full-stack development and architecture background
- Experience designing, building, and scaling web platforms for high-traffic applications
- Ability to prioritize effectively and make quick decisions under pressure
- Deep understanding of agile frameworks and project management practices
- Excellent communication skills; ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences
- Passion for user-centric product development and high-quality solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Self-starter with business acumen and strategic mindset
- Collaborative approach with a "can-do" attitude and focus on execution
