Salary: USD 188,000 - 250,000 / annual
Reliable Robotics is developing automated aviation systems to enhance safety in air transportation. As a Senior Electrical Test Engineer on the avionics team, you will lead the development of automated test equipment systems for functional, environmental qualification, and manufacturing acceptance testing in a safety-critical environment. This is a foundational opportunity to scale test operations from early-stage to production-ready maturity.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing automated test equipment for complex avionics hardware, analyzing test results to identify failure modes and drive root cause investigations, authoring and executing comprehensive test plans and procedures, and collaborating across engineering teams to support testing campaigns. You will also drive continuous improvement to test infrastructure, processes, and practices.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering (or equivalent); 8+ years of full-cycle electronics hardware test or development experience; strong electrical engineering fundamentals; extensive hands-on experience with test equipment, measurement techniques, and hardware verification processes; and proficiency with programming/scripting languages (C, C++, Python) for test software development and maintenance.
Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in electrical engineering, familiarity with formal industry standards (RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-461/810), experience with PCB design tools (Altium Designer, SPICE), and demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams. The role has potential to evolve into a player-coach leadership position.
This is an on-site role in Mountain View, CA with 30% travel required. The company is Series C funded and building mission-critical safety systems for unmanned aircraft. Export control compliance required.
