OpenGov is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to architect and own the cloud infrastructure powering its AI-forward ERP platform serving 2,000+ public sector organizations across the US. This is a high-ownership role combining deep technical execution with cross-functional influence.
You will architect OpenGov's multi-tenant Azure and AWS infrastructure, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery at scale. You'll lead infrastructure-as-code strategy using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi to drive consistency and auditability across environments. Design and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI) enabling rapid, reliable feature delivery across engineering teams.
You'll drive cloud cost optimization and performance engineering across AWS/Azure services, balancing efficiency with reliability commitments. Own the security posture of cloud infrastructure and partner with compliance teams on SOC2 and StateRamp adherence. Establish and manage observability practices using Grafana, Prometheus, and Azure Monitoring; lead incident response and post-mortem processes with a focus on systemic improvement.
Serve as a cross-functional technical advisor to engineering, product, and security teams, translating business priorities into scalable infrastructure decisions. Mentor and develop junior engineers, elevating technical standards and building a culture of operational excellence.
Required: 8+ years software engineering with deep focus on cloud infrastructure and DevOps; 3+ years running Kubernetes at scale in production on public cloud (Azure preferred); proven track record designing AWS/Azure/GCP infrastructure for SaaS applications including managed Kubernetes, databases, networking, RBAC; hands-on expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools in production; strong CI/CD tooling command; deep cloud security knowledge; proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or Ruby; experience with regulated environments and SOC2/StateRamp compliance. Preferred: AI-driven developer tooling experience, ArgoCD/GitOps familiarity, bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
