Lightmatter is a venture-backed leader in AI data center infrastructure, having raised $400M in Series D at a $4.4B valuation. The company invented Passage™, a 3D-stacked photonics engine that connects thousands to millions of processors at light speed for extreme-scale AI and HPC workloads. We are hiring a Senior Design for Test (DFT) Engineer to help build high-performance ASICs for next-generation AI acceleration systems. You will own DFT strategy and execution across the full chip lifecycle, from design through post-silicon validation. Key responsibilities include: - Perform DFT insertion on ASIC designs, including internal scan, boundary scan, and memory BIST - Execute automatic and targeted test pattern generation (ATPG) - Interface with Physical Design and RTL teams to optimize DFT integration - Lead post-silicon DFT bring-up and test program debug - Collaborate with ATE engineers on test program development and validation - Build scripting and automation infrastructure for DFT and ATPG flows - Balance hands-on technical work with high-level planning and strategy You will need a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and a minimum of 13 years of ASIC DFT experience, including at least 2 completed tapeouts. Strong proficiency in Python, TCL, or similar scripting languages is essential. Experience with both ASIC and semi-custom COT flows, post-silicon validation, and ATPG is required. You should be comfortable collaborating across functional teams and thriving in a fast-paced environment. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, multiple production-quality tapeouts, ATE test program development experience, fault modeling knowledge, and understanding of timing, power, and physical design impacts of DFT structures. Familiarity with SoC architecture, SystemVerilog, and chipware components is a plus. Lightmatter offers a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, retirement matching, generous time off, paid family leave, training and development, and equity grants. The role operates on a flexible hybrid model.
