Lightmatter is a venture-backed leader in AI data center infrastructure, having raised $400M in Series D at a $4.4B valuation. The company invented Passage™, a 3D-stacked photonics engine that connects thousands to millions of processors at light speed for advanced AI and HPC workloads in extreme-scale data centers.
As a Senior Design for Test (DFT) Engineer, you will architect and deploy comprehensive test solutions for digital, analog, and photonic logic across chip, module, and system levels. You'll work cross-functionally with RTL designers, physical design engineers, and product operations to create scalable DFT methodologies for next-generation photonics-based AI platforms.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design chip, module, and system-level DFT solutions for highly integrated photonics platforms
- Develop and deploy DFT methodologies including ATPG, boundary scan, and JTAG implementations
- Collaborate with RTL designers on front-end integration and physical design engineers on backend integration
- Create automated, scalable test flows that grow with the team and company
- Support silicon bring-up, debug, and validation of DFT implementations
- Conduct pre-silicon design activities and post-silicon planning
- Manage deliverables in a fast-paced, evolving environment
You'll need at least 5 years of industry experience with DFT on advanced ASIC designs, strong proficiency in scripting (Python/TCL), deep knowledge of DFT concepts (Scan, ATPG, memory test, JTAG), and hands-on experience with commercial EDA tools. A Master's degree and experience with multiple production-quality tapeouts is preferred. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge photonics technology at a well-funded, high-growth company.
