CrowdStrike is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to join the Proactive Security team within the Cloud Security Group. This is a management role focused on building and leading a distributed team of cloud-specialized software engineers and technical leads. You will manage engineers responsible for developing and maintaining mechanisms to prevent cloud misconfigurations and security risks before deployment across multiple cloud vendors and private data centers.
In this role, you will architect enterprise-grade solutions that scale from thousands to millions of requests per second, protecting Kubernetes clusters, container registries, serverless functions, and cloud workloads. You'll help drive both roadmap and technical strategy while being instrumental in hiring, retaining, and growing a team of highly talented engineers. The team creates developer-friendly tools and integrations that embed security prevention directly into CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and Kubernetes deployment processes.
Key responsibilities include managing a global team across time zones, partnering with product management and engineering teams to align cloud proactive capabilities with customer needs, and owning validation processes for proactive vulnerability detections. You will ensure quality and accuracy through automated workflows while maintaining CrowdStrike's high standards for security solutions.
Required qualifications: BS/MS in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience), 7+ years in Software Engineering with at least 3+ years in management positions, and U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency. You must be able to work 3+ days per week on-site from the New York office.
Desired experience includes distributed data processing frameworks (Apache Spark), real-time streaming platforms (Kafka, Pinot, Flink), cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, container orchestration, Golang/Python programming, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, GenAI/Agentic AI automation, and demonstrated track record of hiring strong engineers. Experience with remote teams, Agile/Scrum methodology, and shipping high-quality software in cloud environments is essential.
