Crusoe is a vertically integrated AI infrastructure company building the energy-efficient backbone for next-generation AI workloads. As Senior Category Manager for Electrical Sourcing, you will own the strategic sourcing and supplier management for the electrical spend category—including switchgear, PDC components, cable/wire, and specialized electrical hardware—across Crusoe's key manufacturing and data center sites in Arvada, Brighton, Tulsa, and Ponchatoula.
This is a strategic role, not a transactional procurement function. You will be accountable for setting supply chain strategy, building defensible Approved Vendor Lists (AVLs), and establishing the commercial frameworks that enable operational teams to execute seamlessly. Your core responsibilities include:
• Market & Spend Intelligence: Maintain deep visibility into electrical supply base capabilities, pricing benchmarks, actual lead times, and capacity constraints, with particular focus on long-lead items like switchgear.
• AVL Qualification & Management: Conduct rigorous supplier vetting, maintain scored qualification rationale for every vendor, and verify NEC/UL compliance across all electrical categories.
• Category Strategy & Segmentation: Apply strategic frameworks (e.g., Kraljic Matrix) to classify electrical categories and build 12–24 month category roadmaps with dual-sourcing options that balance technical capability, quality, and lead-time reliability.
• Commercial Negotiations & Contracting: Structure and negotiate Master Service Agreements, pricing, terms, and SLAs while redlining buyer-adverse clauses to protect schedule integrity and mitigate risk.
• Proactive Risk Mitigation: Manage single-source exposures and lead-time risks on specialized components, maintaining a live category risk register with clear mitigation paths.
• Supplier Performance Tracking: Establish quarterly scorecards evaluating on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness, and cost trends.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Create robust commercial frameworks that enable Material Planners and PO Specialists to execute against established terms.
You bring 4–7+ years of dedicated strategic sourcing or category management experience focused on electrical components, switchgear, or industrial electrical equipment. You hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). You have working familiarity with NEC/UL compliance requirements and electrical component specifications sufficient to evaluate supplier technical claims. You demonstrate hands-on experience reading, structuring, and redlining complex commercial contracts, and you are proficient with supplier qualification frameworks, RFI/RFQ processes, scorecarding, and category segmentation methodologies.
Bonus qualifications include ERP experience (Acumatica or similar), background in high-power compute or data center infrastructure, and proven track record building dual-sourcing strategies for long-lead industrial hardware.
