Relativity Space is building the Terran R rocket to deliver payloads to orbit using advanced 3D printing manufacturing. The Avionics team owns the full lifecycle of the rocket's electrical control systems—from design through flight operations—and is structured to enable rapid iteration across design, manufacturing, and test. As Senior Avionics Test Systems Engineer for Ground Systems, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of critical ground support equipment (GSE) that interfaces directly with flight hardware during engine testing, vehicle integration, and launch operations. This is a high-ownership role where you'll architect electrical and mechanical test systems that support the vehicle in challenging field environments. Key responsibilities include: - Lead design and development of ground systems supporting engine test, vehicle integration, and launch operations - Collaborate cross-functionally with avionics, propulsion, structures, software, test, and operations teams - Oversee fabrication, bring-up, and validation of test systems including electrical testing, calibration, and functional verification - Author interface control documents (ICDs) and engineering release drawings to ensure alignment between GSE and flight hardware - Work with safety, operations, and launch teams to ensure compliance and operability under high-stakes conditions You bring 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and deploying test systems or electrical integration systems in aerospace or high-reliability environments. You have strong knowledge of electrical signal integrity, grounding schemes, shielding, and power systems. You're comfortable with hands-on hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and validation. A degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering (or related field) is required. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives on ownership, fast iteration, and seeing systems move from concept to operational launchpad in a startup environment.
