Relativity Space is building the Terran R launch vehicle to deliver payloads to orbit. The Avionics team is responsible for the full lifecycle of the vehicle's electrical systems—designing, building, testing, installing, and operating hardware that connects and controls every major system on the vehicle and ground.
As a Senior Avionics EMC Survivability Engineer, you will lead electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) analysis, testing, and verification of avionics hardware per MIL-STD-461 and related military standards. You will oversee EMC testing and qualification across multiple products throughout the entire lifecycle—from concept and initial design consultation through emissions and susceptibility testing, design verification, qualification testing, and vehicle-level integration testing.
You will work cross-functionally with propulsion, guidance/navigation/control (GNC), fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure Terran R's avionics systems meet all EMC requirements and operate reliably in the harsh electromagnetic environment of launch and flight. This is an opportunity to shape the fundamental avionics architecture of a next-generation launch vehicle and own critical components that will fly.
Key responsibilities include performing EMC analysis and testing, managing test schedules and compliance, consulting on design decisions early in the development cycle, and ensuring hardware meets both technical and schedule requirements to support Terran R's launch timeline.
