Twilio is seeking a Senior Architect for its Emerging Technologies Experimentation Team, focused on fraud detection and governance. This is a high-impact role within Twilio's innovation incubation lab, where you'll design, prototype, and implement forward-looking technical solutions that drive next-generation innovation. You will serve as the technical bridge ensuring experimental initiatives can scale to production. Your responsibilities include architecting scalable, high-performance solutions using modern technologies; experimenting with AI, machine learning, and emerging tech to validate new product ideas; leading technical direction and mentoring engineering teams across US and India locations; partnering cross-functionally to align prototypes with business strategy; and communicating technical vision to stakeholders and executive leadership. The role emphasizes understanding Twilio's enterprise architecture, ensuring scalability and extensibility in technical designs, and identifying one-way door decisions when defining architectures. You'll work on Horizon-3 initiatives that redefine how humanity interacts with AI, including projects like Ola (agent-native communication channel) and the Agent-to-Human (A2H) protocol. Required qualifications include 15+ years in architecture or principal engineering roles; applied fraud detection and governance framework experience; familiarity with AI, machine learning, and LLMs with deployment experience; demonstrated success designing large-scale architectures on AWS and Azure; strong leadership and mentoring capabilities; proficiency in multiple programming languages (JavaScript, Python, Java, Go); experience with front-end (React, Angular) and back-end (Node.js, Spring, SpringBoot) development; and deep understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
