Relativity Space is building the Terran R reusable launch vehicle to serve growing demand for orbital launch capacity. The company combines advanced 3D printing manufacturing with rocket engineering to enable rapid, cost-effective space access.
The Integrated Performance team ensures all systems work cohesively across disciplines—trajectory design, aerodynamics, reliability analysis, and structures. The team recently completed preliminary design and analysis of Terran R, including the company's first work on launch vehicle reusability, spanning advanced trajectory simulations, wind tunnel testing, and structures analysis.
As Senior Aerodynamics Engineer, you will develop and execute CFD (computational fluid dynamics) analyses to solve novel challenges in vehicle entry stability and control. You'll validate CFD approaches and establish best practices for both ascent and entry flight phases. You'll scope and develop comprehensive aerodynamics databases for ascent and entry, integrating uncertainty quantification from CFD, wind tunnel, and empirical data sources.
This role offers significant technical ownership and impact. You'll collaborate across propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, and corporate teams to shape decisions on a tangible, momentum-building product.
