Quantum Space is seeking a Spacecraft Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer to develop algorithms, analyses, and flight capabilities that enable spacecraft to navigate, maneuver, and operate autonomously across diverse space missions. You will own GNC subsystem development throughout the spacecraft lifecycle, from mission analysis through on-orbit support. Key responsibilities include: - Develop high-fidelity spacecraft dynamics and GNC simulation environments to support analysis, verification, and mission design - Implement and tune control laws for attitude control, momentum management, orbit maneuvering, relative proximity operations (RPO), and station-keeping - Perform state estimation design and analysis using Extended Kalman Filters (EKF), Unscented Kalman Filters (UKF), and sensor fusion techniques (GPS/IMU, star tracker, sun sensor pipelines) - Support integration of GNC algorithms into flight software, including validation through unit testing, software-in-the-loop (SIL), hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and full-vehicle simulation - Conduct verification and validation activities and provide on-orbit mission support The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and is passionate about building next-generation space systems. The role requires strong expertise in spacecraft dynamics, control theory, navigation algorithms, and flight software integration. Experience with real-time systems, embedded software, and aerospace standards is valuable.
