Varda Space Industries is building commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing vehicles, reentry capsules, and heat shields. The company designs and manufactures all major components in-house and operates a production facility in El Segundo, California.
As a Space Process Engineer focused on FMEA and manufacturability, you will partner closely with design engineering and manufacturing teams to scale production of spacecraft hardware. Your core responsibilities include:
- Developing test, manufacturability, and inspection plans for all vehicle hardware in collaboration with design and manufacturing teams
- Containing suspect or non-conforming product and providing technical guidance to quality inspectors, technicians, shop supervisors, and engineers
- Conducting failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate production risks
- Supporting quality assurance, flight reliability, and mission assurance initiatives
- Ensuring production processes yield verified, reliable hardware at manufacturing rate
You will be a capable, process-oriented, and systems-thinking engineer who can flex across build reliability, quality, flight reliability, and mission assurance functions. The role requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
