Formance builds programmable financial infrastructure, including an open-source ledger that helps engineering teams model, track, and reconcile money movements across financial products, payment platforms, fintech applications, and digital-asset businesses.
You will join as a Solutions Engineer, combining technical depth with commercial judgment to work with prospective customers. Your primary responsibilities include:
- Lead technical discovery with engineering and product teams to understand their financial workflows, constraints, and evaluation criteria.
- Build tailored demos and proofs of concept using Formance's APIs and tooling.
- Guide technical evaluations, investigate questions, and help prospects assess product fit.
- Partner with sales to connect technical capabilities to business needs and move opportunities forward.
- Bring customer feedback to product and engineering, with concrete examples of gaps and recurring needs.
You will work directly with teams building financial products, helping them make consequential infrastructure decisions. You'll have ownership of technical evaluations, close access to product and engineering, and the opportunity to shape how Formance is demonstrated and explained to customers.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking infrastructure, or digital-asset infrastructure; understanding of how money moves through financial products and operational challenges.
- Strong technical foundation: ability to work with APIs, read and write code, debug integrations, and reason about data models and system architecture.
- Direct customer experience through solutions engineering, solutions architecture, technical consulting, or engineering roles with significant customer exposure.
- Ability to ask precise questions, uncover requirements, and explain complex concepts clearly.
- Commercial judgment: understanding how technical evaluations contribute to buying decisions.
- Hands-on approach and ability to work independently in a small team.
- Strong written and spoken English for leading technical conversations with international customers.
USEFUL ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- Working with ledgers, double-entry accounting, reconciliation, or payment orchestration.
- Supporting technical evaluations for API-first or developer-facing products.
- Building financial workflows involving multiple currencies, payment providers, or digital assets.
- Turning recurring customer questions into reusable demos, documentation, or tools.
