Nearmap is a property intelligence platform that combines aerial imagery, AI-driven analytics, and geospatial tools for government agencies, property assessors, planners, and emergency responders. As Solutions Product Manager for Government, you will own the product direction and execution for Nearmap's government solutions, working to deepen existing offerings and grow the government customer segment.
You will serve as the Product Owner for the government delivery stream, partnering with senior product leaders to define requirements and priorities. Key responsibilities include translating customer and business needs into clear, actionable requirements for the engineering team; owning product metrics and surfacing insights; analyzing customer signals (call recordings, feedback) to identify opportunities; and leading backlog grooming and priority refinement with the delivery team.
You will build deep expertise across government use cases—property assessment and management, land development, public safety, portfolio/asset management, and disaster response—becoming the internal authority on customer workflows, pain points, and industry-specific challenges. You will regularly connect with Sales, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to surface customer pain points and upselling opportunities; talk directly with customers to understand how they use Nearmap's products; share insights with stakeholders in ways that drive action; engage with ecosystem partners (technology platforms, channel partners, analysts, media); and listen to sales and customer success calls to build understanding of customer priorities.
This role blends strategic ownership with hands-on execution. The focus is on growing and refining what's already working for government customers, not building new product lines from scratch, so strong execution and stakeholder management are critical.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5–10+ years of product management experience building B2B SaaS or data products for external customers
- Experience working with or selling to government customers is a strong plus, including familiarity with public sector procurement and how local, state, and federal agencies work together
- Experience with geospatial data (in government or another industry) is a big plus
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to build, validate, and pitch compelling business cases in plain language, quickly and thoroughly
- Comfort with geospatial technology and remote sensing; ideally familiar with Esri, Autodesk, or Bentley products
- Ability to write sharp requirements that technical teams can execute immediately
- Track record of making things happen—juggling multiple priorities and stakeholders while hitting deadlines
- Clear and confident communication across cross-functional teams
- Ability to extract real insight from messy, diverse data
- Strong communicator in writing, conversation, and visually
- Commercially sharp and energized by driving revenue; sharp judgment on prioritizing competing needs within an established product line
- Analytical and personable—equally comfortable with data and with people across engineering disciplines
