UiPath is seeking a Solution Architect to design, build, and operationalize AI agent workflows in enterprise and public sector customer environments. This is a forward-deployed, customer-facing engineering role that combines hands-on software engineering with deep platform expertise and solution architecture.
You will own end-to-end architecture for UiPath automation and agentic programs at customer sites, including agents, RPA workflows, integrations, data pipelines, and human-in-the-loop steps. Key responsibilities include:
- Design agentic workflows that combine LLM decision-making with tool/function calling, context grounding, and deterministic fallbacks to maintain predictable behavior in production.
- Architect Document Understanding pipelines (extraction, classification, validation) and Python services connecting them to customer systems.
- Select appropriate GenAI/ML techniques per problem—prompting, retrieval/context grounding, or trained models in AI Center—and establish guardrails, human checkpoints, and escalation paths before go-live.
- Deploy and operationalize AI agents in production environments, including APIs, data pipelines, and integration with existing systems.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, translating requirements into architecture and explaining design choices, risks, and trade-offs to engineering and executive audiences.
- Establish standards, reusable patterns, and design reviews governing delivery from discovery through hypercare; mentor developers and ensure customers can operate the architecture independently.
- Feed field findings (failure patterns, missing capabilities, design gaps) back into product roadmap and reusable assets.
This role addresses a core challenge: "How do we know we can trust an AI agent in production?" You will work side-by-side with customers to harden agentic workflows in live environments, combining the hands-on coding of a software engineer with the platform depth of a UiPath specialist.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years hands-on software development in Python, C#, TypeScript, VB.NET, or comparable languages, with production-quality code and solid CS fundamentals.
- 4+ years building UiPath automation workflows, with working knowledge of Orchestrator, Document Understanding, Action Apps, AI Center, and Insights.
- Command of UiPath design patterns (Robotic Enterprise Framework, Document Understanding Framework, orchestration processes) and judgment about when each applies.
- Hands-on experience building, deploying, or operating LLM-based agents and agentic workflows (tool/function calling, RAG, multi-step orchestration, LangChain/LangGraph, Model Context Protocol), ideally in production.
- Working understanding of prompting, grounding, and hallucination mitigation, with judgment to keep agent behavior within acceptable bounds in live systems.
- Proven customer-facing track record in forward-deployed, professional services, implementation, or consulting roles: leading technical workshops, managing stakeholders, delivering under real-world constraints.
- Technical leadership across globally distributed teams—driving strategy, mentoring engineers, establishing best practices.
- Experience designing end-to-end solutions across applications, APIs, and automation platforms, with deep grasp of design choices for scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Excellent written and verbal English; ability to present complex architecture and delivery risk to executive stakeholders.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
