Exotec designs and manufactures end-to-end warehouse robotics solutions for major global brands. The Software Integration team serves as the technical bridge between Exotec's automation platform and customer software ecosystems, ensuring seamless communication across warehouse operations.
In this role, you will develop, configure, and support software integrations between Exotec products and customer systems including WMS, WCS, ERP, and other operational platforms. You'll design, develop, test, and troubleshoot APIs, interfaces, data flows, and middleware components supporting warehouse automation deployments. Key responsibilities include analyzing customer business and software requirements to develop scalable solutions, creating technical documentation and functional analyses, and supporting integration testing, UAT, and go-live activities.
You'll collaborate closely with hardware, systems, field commissioning, project management, and customer teams throughout the project lifecycle. This includes performing root cause analysis on issues spanning software, databases, APIs, messaging systems, and warehouse automation environments. You'll participate in customer-facing meetings, workshops, and on-site deployment activities at warehouse locations across North America. The role also involves reviewing functional requirements for quality and maintainability, supporting handoffs to operational and support teams, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives around software quality and engineering standards.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring travel up to 30% to customer sites and a willingness to support deployments in the field.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-4 years of experience in software engineering, systems integration, application support, automation, or related technical discipline
- Experience developing or supporting software applications using Java, JavaScript, Node.js, Python, SQL, REST APIs, or similar modern tools
- Understanding of software integration concepts including APIs, data flows, messaging, middleware, databases, or system-to-system communication
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze technical issues and identify root causes
- Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating across multiple technical disciplines
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
- Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% to customer sites throughout North America
- Highly desirable: exposure to warehouse management systems (WMS), warehouse control systems (WCS), warehouse execution systems (WES), logistics, fulfillment, industrial automation, robotics, or material handling systems
- Plus: experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, messaging platforms (Kafka, RabbitMQ), or enterprise integrations
