Salary: USD 140,000 - 260,000 / annual
Archer Technologies is building an all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft designed to carry four passengers while producing minimal noise. As a Software Integration Engineer, you will play a critical role in bringing the onboard software stack to life on flight hardware.
Your primary responsibilities include integrating software onto flight controllers and companion compute systems, owning the ground-control software and operator interface to support single-operator, multi-platform operation. You will plan and execute comprehensive test campaigns end-to-end, including developing test cards, setting up instrumentation, and coordinating safety and site logistics. Post-test, you'll analyze data to gate program milestones and ensure the system meets performance requirements.
You'll own the overall operator experience across the entire system, from ground control station interfaces to in-field operations. This is a highly collaborative role requiring close coordination with hardware, perception, navigation, and autonomy teams to deliver an integrated, reliable system.
Required qualifications include a background in robotics or systems software engineering, hands-on experience with ROS 2 and Linux-based systems, and familiarity with MAVLink and PX4/ArduPilot autopilot stacks. You should have practical experience with ground control station (GCS) or human-machine interface (HMI) development, plus hands-on test experience with small aircraft or robotic platforms. Data analysis skills using Python or MATLAB are essential.
Bonus qualifications include Part 107 certification or airspace-authorization experience, front-end development experience for operator interfaces, and experience supporting field test operations. This role requires onsite presence in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
