Salary: USD 230,000 - 260,000 / annual

In this role, you'll lead the web team as a manager-engineer hybrid, owning the web experience as a product at Sanity. You'll manage and mentor a team of 2+ engineers, define the web roadmap, and drive high-impact initiatives that shift the team from reactive execution to proactive innovation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing the web team: manage, mentor, and foster a high-performing culture
- Owning the web roadmap: define priorities, scope projects, and align delivery with company growth
- Transforming web into a product: shift from reactive support to proactive opportunity identification
- Driving AI-native web experiences: leverage Sanity's platform and emerging AI tools to build scalable, personalized experiences
- Partnering cross-functionally with marketing, design, and product teams
- Leading experimentation and optimization: run A/B tests, iterate on user journeys, improve conversion and engagement
- Owning web performance and KPIs: be accountable for conversion rates, engagement, traffic quality, and build systems to track and optimize
- Balancing leadership and hands-on technical contribution
You bring 8+ years of web engineering experience with 1–3+ years in a leadership or team lead role. You have a strong technical background in modern web development (frontend or full-stack), product mindset, and experience working cross-functionally with marketing, design, and product teams. You're comfortable with experimentation, analytics, growth optimization, and have interest in applying AI tools to web development.
What sets you apart: experience turning a website into a measurable growth engine, strong perspective on how AI transforms web experiences, background with personalization or experimentation platforms, experience in fast-moving ambiguous environments, familiarity with headless CMS or developer tools, and a track record of improving business metrics through web initiatives.
