CoMind is developing non-invasive neuromonitoring technology for clinical brain monitoring and diagnosis of brain disorders. The Software team spans the full stack of a regulated medical device company—from embedded and real-time systems through application software, ML inference, GUI, DevOps, and test engineering.
This is a people-first leadership role managing and developing a team of test and DevOps engineers. You will set priorities and development plans, drive performance, and stay hands-on in technical direction. The role requires working at least 4 days per week in the London Kings Cross office, with one flexible work-from-home day.
Key responsibilities include: managing and mentoring a DevOps and test engineering team with performance reviews and development planning; owning CI/CD strategy and build/release infrastructure across the software stack, including multi-device test fleet and pipeline reliability; owning the Yocto-based embedded Linux platform build and deployment with signed software updates and rollback mechanisms; leading architecture reviews and performing proofs-of-concept for new infrastructure tools; defining and driving software V&V and test automation strategy with continuous validation infrastructure; establishing compliance-as-code workflows mapping verification evidence to IEC 62304 (Class C) and ISO 14971 risk controls; owning cloud-side data pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for data ingest, analysis, and MLOps; coordinating cybersecurity workstreams with IT and QARA teams; and partnering on release processes and automated quality gates.
Required: 10+ years progressive software, DevOps, or test engineering experience with at least 3 years in engineering management or team lead role; proven experience leading DevOps, test, platform, or infrastructure teams; strong hands-on CI/CD, build systems, and test automation background for embedded and/or cloud systems; embedded Linux build and deployment experience (ideally Yocto-based); scalable test infrastructure architecture spanning embedded hardware and cloud pipelines; regulated industry delivery experience (medical devices, aerospace, automotive) with IEC 62304 and ISO 14971 knowledge; advanced Python and C/C++; infrastructure-as-code and major cloud provider experience (AWS, GCP, Azure).
Nice-to-have: hardware-in-the-loop or software-in-the-loop test environments; MLOps exposure including model drift validation and dataset governance; cybersecurity requirements experience (IEC 81001-5-1, FDA guidance) and SOUP management; complex build environment experience (CMake, Conan, Ceedling) or cloud-native IaC (Terraform, CDK); observability tooling familiarity (Grafana, Prometheus).
