Anduril Industries is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the Simulation Platforms team within the Air Dominance & Strike division. This team develops high-fidelity simulation platforms used to evaluate advanced aerospace and mission systems in realistic, contested environments. You will manage and scale a growing engineering team, fostering a high-performance culture while maintaining hands-on technical involvement. Key responsibilities include growing and mentoring the engineering team, partnering with the Chief Engineer to define technical direction and modernize simulation architectures from legacy monolithic frameworks into modern, modular systems with stable APIs and robust versioning. You will maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across government-owned simulation environments and defense agencies, and partner with business development teams to identify new opportunities, evaluate technical feasibility, and lead technical proposal writing to expand the team's footprint. The role requires 5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams with a proven track record of hiring, scaling, and developing talent. You need 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with strong understanding of complex systems architecture, API design, and modern software engineering practices. Experience developing, deploying, and testing software within secure, classified, or air-gapped environments is essential. You must have experience partnering with business development teams, writing technical proposals, or scoping engineering work for government contracts, plus proven ability to manage customer expectations and negotiate technical delivery paths. Preferred qualifications include prior experience in modeling and simulation within the defense sector, particularly federating multiple simulators; familiarity with translating intelligence assessments of adversary capabilities into high-fidelity modeled software environments; and familiarity with modern defense acquisition, test, and innovation organizations such as AFLCMC, TRMC, or DIU. Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance is required.
