Salary: USD 185,500 - 299,000 / annual
Squarespace Payments is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a talented engineering team building and scaling the infrastructure that powers Squarespace's payment ecosystem. In this high-visibility role, you will drive delivery against key company and department goals, ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements, and provide technical leadership for critical initiatives. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, and Operations to set technical direction while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Your work will directly impact Squarespace's revenue growth and the experience of merchants worldwide.
Key responsibilities include leading the engineering team that builds payments products, working with experienced product and design partners to create strategies impacting hundreds of thousands of businesses, mentoring engineers to develop their expertise in payments and software development, collaborating with stakeholders to maintain product compliance, and scaling teams and organizational processes. You will report directly to the Engineering Director for the Financial Solutions Group.
Required qualifications: 7+ years in the software industry, 3+ years launching payments products, experience developing and launching FinTech products and infrastructures, proven ability coaching engineers with diverse specialties, and experience scaling teams and organizations. Experience with Adyen and Stripe platforms is highly valued. This is a hybrid role based in Squarespace's New York office.
