Constantinople is building an AI-native banking platform that modernizes how banks operate. The company provides a fully-managed software and AI operational platform integrating customer experience, product, data, operations, compliance, and infrastructure—eliminating expensive legacy infrastructure and replacing manual processes with AI at scale.
As Engineering Manager for the Lending team, you will lead a core technical and people organization responsible for the design and delivery of systems that enable client banks to originate, assess, and service loans across the full lifecycle: application, decisioning, repayments, redraw, and arrears management. This role sits at the intersection of complex product mechanics, real customer money, and demanding regulatory requirements.
You will be accountable for building software that is correct by design, auditable, and resilient. You'll foster a thriving and motivated engineering team, champion career advancement through regular feedback and mentorship, and spearhead the team's technical direction to ensure projects align with company objectives while adhering to the highest standards of quality, timely delivery, and best practices.
Key responsibilities include: developing and mentoring engineers on your team; assisting with hiring, onboarding, and training; setting and maintaining engineering standards while advocating for code quality and continuous improvement; leading technical strategy for the lending platform with architectural decisions and feature implementation oversight; owning the correctness and reliability of lending calculations, decisioning logic, and loan lifecycle events where errors have direct financial and regulatory consequences; partnering with product, principal engineers, risk, compliance, and operations teams to build controls and evidence into the platform; and ensuring technical project delivery with features completed on time and within scope.
You bring demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, strong technical background with hands-on experience building large-scale SaaS solutions, comfort owning systems where accuracy, traceability, and auditability are non-negotiable, strong teamwork skills that foster productive relationships, and the ability to handle complex problems and manage reactive programming. Experience with lending, mortgages, or credit products (origination, decisioning, servicing, or collections) is a nice-to-have.
