Assured is modernizing insurance claims processing, which is currently highly manual and inefficient. The company provides software solutions to large insurers for self-service claim filing, fraud detection, and backend decision-making systems. As a Software Engineering Manager, you'll lead a talented engineering team through a period of significant growth and scaling.
You'll be responsible for leading and developing exceptional engineers through mentorship, regular feedback, and career growth conversations. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with product and design teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable features that impact users and the business. A key part of your role is driving engineering excellence by guiding architectural decisions, promoting best practices, and ensuring performance and reliability across the platform.
You'll also scale the team and organization by refining processes, supporting hiring efforts, and improving team velocity and execution. You'll foster a culture of collaboration and learning, promoting transparency, adaptability, and shared ownership. As the company navigates growth challenges, you'll evolve workflows while maintaining focus on delivering user and business value.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or management role. You're comfortable in high-growth startup environments and can stay hands-on when needed. You have a proven track record of attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional engineering talent. You're skilled at translating customer and business needs into cohesive technical roadmaps and execution plans. Familiarity with the tech stack (Node.js/TypeScript, React/TypeScript, GraphQL, Python, Docker, PostgreSQL, AWS) is a bonus.
