Airbound is building the world's most efficient autonomous delivery aircraft, targeting a dramatic reduction in drone delivery costs from ₹100/km to 10 paise/km. You will join the Flight Systems team as a Full Stack Engineer, responsible for developing the complete software ecosystem that powers autonomous UAV operations. This includes the next-generation Ground Control Station (GCS), fleet management dashboards, real-time data analysis tools, and simulation interfaces. Your work directly impacts the safety and efficiency of autonomous operations at scale.
Key responsibilities:
- Architect and deploy end-to-end features across web-based UAV platforms
- Build dynamic, responsive front-end interfaces using React for real-time telemetry visualization, mission planning, and complex data analysis
- Engineer high-throughput, low-latency backend services using NestJS to process UAV data streams, manage command-and-control logic, and handle specialized communication protocols
- Own the full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Champion software excellence through Test-Driven Development and best practices in a mission-critical environment
- Create technical documentation including architectural diagrams, API specifications, and operational runbooks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into robust solutions
The role is in-office at the Hoskote, Bangalore headquarters, with alternate Saturday work schedules. The company offers comprehensive health insurance, relocation assistance, daily travel stipends, and advanced salary credit.
REQUIREMENTS
Must-have:
- Minimum 7+ years of professional full-stack software development experience, preferably with real-time systems
- Advanced proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React, with demonstrated experience building complex, data-driven user interfaces
- Advanced proficiency in backend development with Node.js and extensive hands-on experience with NestJS
- Hands-on experience with both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases, including schema design and query optimization
- Strong understanding of core networking principles (TCP/IP suite, UDP) with practical experience implementing real-time communication using WebSockets
- Experience developing systems that process and manage continuous, high-frequency data streams
- Strong test-driven development and profiling expertise for safety-critical systems
- Mastery of Git workflows and collaborative development practices
- Application of SOLID principles and embedded software best practices
- Excellent documentation and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Good to have:
- Experience with UAV software (ArduPilot), simulation environments (SITL), and communication protocols (MAVLink)
- Proficiency with data visualization libraries (D3.js, Chart.js, Mapbox, Leaflet)
- Familiarity with message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka) or time-series databases (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB)
- Familiarity with C++ or Python
