LucidLink is a file streaming platform enabling teams instant access to large files in the cloud without downloads, syncing, or VPNs. You'll join the Webservices Platform team as a TypeScript/Node.js engineer with an SRE mindset. This is a full-stack backend role where you own services end-to-end: you write the code and operate it in production. The platform handles critical infrastructure—customer authentication, authorization, storage, and filespace provisioning—that other teams and business functions depend on for uptime and SLA commitments.
Your responsibilities include:
- Design and develop reliable, scalable TypeScript/Node.js services powering authentication, storage, billing, and filespace provisioning.
- Build and maintain observability infrastructure using Cloudwatch, Elastic, Prometheus, InfluxDB, and Grafana.
- Participate in on-call rotations: triage incidents, drive mitigation, lead root-cause analysis, and write postmortems (ramping gradually).
- Define and track SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs; use them to prioritize reliability work.
- Reduce operational toil by building internal tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Contribute to modernization efforts toward high availability, disaster recovery, and high uptime.
- Support customer provisioning and platform work alongside reliability and feature development.
- Collaborate with Platform Engineering and other teams whose services depend on this platform.
The role emphasizes ownership: you'll challenge technical decisions, investigate complex production scenarios (performance issues, failure modes, edge cases), and drive the platform toward resilience. LucidLink is a 230+ person company on a hypergrowth trajectory, headquartered in San Francisco with engineering offices in Sofia and remote staff across North America, Europe, and Australia.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3–5+ years of backend software development experience, ideally with TypeScript/Node.js.
- Strong backend architecture skills; experience designing for scale and fault tolerance.
- Deep technical understanding of Linux/systems fundamentals.
- SRE experience or strong SRE practices (observability, incident management, SLO-driven work).
- Experience operating and monitoring cloud services in production (AWS or similar); familiarity with Cloudwatch, Elastic, Prometheus, InfluxDB, Grafana.
- Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL systems (MariaDB, Mongo, Redis, or others).
- Experience with message broker software (RabbitMQ, Redis, Amazon SQS).
- Comfortable working independently, communicating blockers openly, and collaborating across teams.
- AI fluency is a core professional competency; you'll be asked about your current use of AI tools and responsible AI practices during interviews.
