amo is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Web team as an early member, owning the user-facing web experience. The role focuses on the critical moment when users first encounter amo's apps through web links—often shared via messenger or social feeds—before deciding to download. You will work closely with product, engineering, and growth teams to build the surfaces that drive new user acquisition. Over time, you'll take increasing ownership of the consumer web experience, working across the full stack with high autonomy. Key responsibilities include: **Consumer Web Experiences**: Build fast, beautiful, conversion-focused web experiences optimized for any device and in-app browser. Attention to performance (milliseconds) and design precision (pixels) is essential. **Deep Linking & App Entry**: Own the bridge between web and app, including Universal Links, App Links, deferred deep linking, attribution, and App Clips. Ensure every link takes users exactly where expected, whether they have the app installed or not. **Sharing & Rich Previews**: Make shared content look great everywhere it lands. Generate dynamic OG metadata and preview images at scale, and iterate based on conversion data. **Analytics & Experimentation**: Design and maintain event tracking taxonomy (Amplitude) for consistency and trust across teams. Instrument funnels end-to-end, run rigorous A/B tests, and translate results into decisions. **Growth Initiatives**: Identify and ship new acquisition and conversion improvements. Analyze funnels, form hypotheses, build, measure, and scale or drop ideas. Be an active contributor to roadmap prioritization. **Ownership**: Take full responsibility for architecture, performance, monitoring, and reliability of everything you ship. Proactively address issues before escalation. The company values deep expertise and subject-matter mastery. You'll work with a modern stack, ship in days rather than quarters, and impact products used by millions. The team is 68% international and works onsite 5 days per week in central Paris (near Opéra, Metro lines 3, 8, 9, RER A). Relocation support includes visa sponsorship, 1 month of covered Airbnb, relocation agency assistance, help with French paperwork, and French lessons. **Requirements:** - 5+ years of professional experience building consumer-facing web products - Deep expertise in React / Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js - Strong understanding of web performance: rendering strategies (SSR, edge, static), caching, CDNs, Core Web Vitals, mobile and in-app browser behavior - Hands-on experience with deep linking, Universal Links / App Links, and attribution (App Clips experience is a plus) - Experience designing analytics taxonomies and running experiments with strong data quality discipline - Growth mindset: think in funnels and conversion rates, motivated by moving metrics - Strong product and visual taste; attention to detail (2px misalignment, 100ms delays) - Comfortable working autonomously across frontend and backend (infrastructure knowledge—Bazel, GCP, Kubernetes—is a plus) - Passion for building and shipping consumer-facing products - Real grasp of AI tools as multipliers; ability to drive complex changes with AI agents, judge output quality, spot subtle errors, and stand behind shipped code
