Jane App is seeking a Software Development Manager to lead the Growth team's engineering efforts. Reporting to Vivek (VP Product Growth), you will manage a team of developers focused on clinic activation—helping thousands of clinics get up and running quickly on Jane's healthcare SaaS platform. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and coaching a development team on technical and professional growth
- Writing and reviewing code alongside the team, maintaining architectural oversight
- Owning the Activation outcome (a core growth metric) in partnership with product, design, and data partners
- Shaping the team's approach to AI-driven onboarding experiences for clinics
- Establishing a cadence of small weekly releases with strong instrumentation and experimentation
- Championing pragmatic, responsible AI adoption across the team and in customer-facing features
- Partnering with Jane's AI assistant teams and other core product teams for a connected experience
Jane is a founder-led, high-growth SaaS company serving healthcare clinics. The company is remote-first with teams across Canada, the US, and the UK. Over 70,000 businesses run on Jane, with 250,000+ practitioners using the product daily. Jane was valued at $1.8B in May 2025 and is backed by TCV.
Requirements:
- Started as a hands-on software developer and have grown into a people-management role leading a development team
- Continue to write and review code; comfortable with architectural tradeoffs and technical direction
- Experience on a growth or product-led growth team, owning outcomes like activation or conversion (including at least one case where a feature shipped but the metric didn't move)
- Have taken an AI product from idea through customers to revenue, owning it end-to-end, with clear perspective on where AI added value and where it didn't
- Strong instrumentation and experimentation skills; able to run proper experiments and call results accurately
- Demonstrated coaching ability with examples of helping team members grow
- Comfortable initiating conversations, offering viewpoints, and being wrong in the room
- Healthcare or vertical SaaS experience is a bonus but not required
