amo is hiring a Senior Full Stack Web Engineer to join as an early member of the Web team. You will build and own web platforms that transform large datasets into products people love to use, with maps and location data at the core. You'll work across the full stack—from data modeling to pixel-perfect UI—taking ownership of central systems and features as you grow with the team. Your day-to-day responsibilities include: **Platform Engineering**: Design and build robust, scalable web platforms end-to-end in TypeScript, including APIs, services, data access layers, and UI. You'll make architectural decisions and set patterns for the team. **Workflows & Data Pipelines**: Architect durable, long-running workflows and background processes using workflow orchestration (Restate). Build pipelines that reliably move data between the warehouse, databases, and products at scale. **Data Modeling & Visualization**: Model large datasets for fast querying and visualization. Choose the right aggregations, pre-computations, and storage across Postgres and BigQuery. Turn data into clear, interactive, beautiful visualizations with privacy built in from the start. **Maps & Geospatial Data**: Bring geospatial data to life on the web. Render large amounts of location data on interactive maps, keeping them fast, polished, and insightful. **Roadmap & Ideation**: Contribute actively to the roadmap, identifying tradeoffs and bringing both product and engineering perspectives. **Ownership**: You own the architecture, performance, monitoring, and reliability of everything you ship. The team values engineers who take full ownership and proactively address issues. The company emphasizes that AI is part of daily work—you should use AI tools to multiply your output, not to cover gaps in expertise. You'll drive complex changes, judge quality, spot subtle errors, and stand behind every line that ships. amo works onsite 5 days a week in central Paris (near Opera, Metro lines 3, 8, 9, and RER A). The office features high ceilings, balconies, and natural light. The company offers comprehensive benefits including 100% health coverage, maintained salary during parental leave, 8-9 weeks vacation annually (including 5 weeks state-mandated PTO, 1-2 weeks RTT, and ~11 bank holidays), and two company-wide shutdowns per year (2 weeks in summer, 1 week in winter) for genuine recharge time. Relocation support includes visa sponsorship, 1 month of covered Airbnb, relocation agency assistance, help with French paperwork (social security, tax forms, healthcare card), and French lessons. The team is 68% international. **Requirements:** - 7+ years of professional experience building SaaS products or data-heavy platforms - High proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, and modern web frameworks (React, Next.js) - Strong experience with Postgres and data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar) - Solid understanding of data modeling for analytics and visualizing large data volumes - Privacy-aware approach to handling sensitive data (aggregation, anonymization) - Comfortable working autonomously across frontend and backend - Plus: workflow orchestration experience (Restate, Temporal) - Plus: expertise in map rendering and geospatial visualization (Mapbox GL, MapLibre, deck.gl) - Plus: WebGL or GPU rendering experience - Plus: experience with polyglot backend and data teams - Plus: infrastructure knowledge (Bazel, GCP, Kubernetes) - Passion for building great products; ability to discuss shipped work English fluency required; French not required. The company will support language ramp-up.
