Robinhood is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Wallet team, which is building secure, intuitive, decentralized products that enable users to custody and manage digital assets. The team operates at the intersection of traditional finance and web3, leveraging DeFi protocols and Robinhood Chain to democratize access to financial services worldwide.
In this role, you will design, build, test, and deploy scalable backend services that power the Robinhood Wallet platform. You'll develop product-facing features and platform enhancements that meet strict correctness and scalability standards, including support for cryptocurrency trading and tokenized stocks with perpetual futures. Your responsibilities include identifying and implementing improvements to system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction, while collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and external vendors to deliver reliable technical solutions.
You'll work on a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything. The role requires designing scalable architectures, maintaining high-quality codebases, and collaborating with other engineering teams to guide key technical decisions and raise engineering standards across the organization.
The position is based in either the New York or Menlo Park office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. Robinhood emphasizes the value of in-person work for accelerating progress, sparking innovation, and strengthening community.
Required qualifications include 2+ years of software development experience, expertise in backend development using Go, Python, or Java with deep knowledge of cloud-native architectures, strong grasp of system design and data modeling, proven ability to simplify complex problems and drive alignment across teams, and a strong sense of personal accountability with a track record of delivering successful end-to-end products.
Bonus experience includes work at DeFi protocols, crypto wallet companies, or other blockchain-related organizations, as well as familiarity with EVM blockchains and smart contracts.
