Salary: USD 196,000 - 294,000 / annual
Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, best known for Next.js, v0, and AI SDK. This role is part of the Trust & Safety team, responsible for protecting millions of developers and projects from abuse at internet scale.
You will build and operate systems that detect and prevent abuse across the Vercel platform. Key responsibilities include analyzing threat actor behavior and emerging abuse patterns across large datasets, researching and implementing state-of-the-art LLM-driven detection and classification techniques, designing production-ready systems to detect and disrupt abusive behavior, building and maintaining internal tools and evaluation pipelines for trust and safety workflows, and collaborating with security, product, and infrastructure teams to move research into stable, scalable production systems.
This is a hands-on engineering role that blends security engineering, data analysis, and applied machine learning. You'll own systems end-to-end, from initial research through production deployment and iteration.
Required qualifications: 5+ years in abuse prevention, trust & safety, or security engineering; strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python; hands-on experience with LLMs including prompt engineering, evaluation, and fine-tuning; solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS); understanding of real-world threat actor behavior and abuse tactics.
The role is hybrid with in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday for those within commuting distance of SF, NY, London, or Berlin offices. Those beyond commuting distance work fully remote.
