Anduril Industries is seeking a Software Engineer, Tooling to join the Air & Missile Defense Radar team. This role bridges tactical software engineers and DevSecOps infrastructure teams, focusing on building secure automation infrastructure for radar tracking deployments in defense environments.
You will design and implement secure CI/CD pipelines enabling automated build, test, and deployment of radar tracking software across multiple classified enclaves. Key responsibilities include collaborating with software engineers to optimize build and test processes, reducing deployment friction, and integrating security controls early in the development lifecycle. You'll work alongside tactical software developers to identify pain points and architect durable solutions.
The role involves building Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools to provision development, test, and production environments meeting DISA STIG and NIST 800-53 requirements. You will automate security compliance workflows including STIG scanning, vulnerability assessment, configuration validation, and compliance reporting for continuous monitoring. Additional responsibilities include developing containerization and orchestration solutions (Docker, Kubernetes) tailored for classified networks with appropriate security hardening, creating monitoring and logging infrastructure for security operations and incident response, and partnering with system administrators and ISSM/ISSO personnel to ensure deployed systems meet customer security requirements.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions), proficiency in Python and C++, understanding of software engineering fundamentals, familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools, working knowledge of containerization and orchestration platforms, Linux system administration and scripting, and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance are essential.
Desired qualifications include experience deploying systems in classified DoD or IC environments, hands-on ATO and STIG implementation experience, Python package development proficiency, familiarity with SCAP-compliant scanning tools, secure software supply chain practices, zero-trust architectures, GitOps workflows, observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk), PKI and secrets management, air-gapped network deployments, DoD security frameworks, and relevant certifications such as Security+.
