Robinhood's Tokenization team is building infrastructure to bring both public and private equity to be tradable 24/7 on decentralized exchanges (DEXs) across the Robinhood Chain. As a Software Engineer, you'll design, build, test, and deploy backend services that handle the full lifecycle of tokenized equities—issuance, custody, and settlement on-chain—while keeping systems in sync with traditional brokerage and ledger infrastructure. You'll own product-facing features and platform capabilities in a domain where correctness is non-negotiable. The systems you build move real customer assets continuously around the clock, so you'll focus on idempotency, reconciliation, and careful reasoning about failure modes when money is at stake. Key responsibilities include: - Design and deploy backend services for minting, custodying, and settling tokenized equities on the Robinhood Chain - Develop product-facing features and platform enhancements meeting strict correctness and scalability standards - Build connective tissue between traditional market infrastructure (brokerage, ledgers, corporate actions) and on-chain systems, including smart contract integrations, chain indexers, and DEX trade flows - Identify and implement improvements to system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction - Collaborate with product, compliance, client, and platform teams to deliver impactful technical solutions You bring 2+ years of software development experience, expertise in backend development using Go, Python, or Java with cloud-native architecture knowledge, strong system design and data modeling fundamentals, and a care for correctness-critical systems. Interest in or appetite to quickly learn blockchain fundamentals (EVM, smart contracts, wallets, on-chain settlement) is important. The role is based in Menlo Park, Toronto, or New York with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
