Grafana Labs is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Synthetic Monitoring squad, which builds and operates a multi-tenant distributed system used globally to proactively verify critical user journeys, APIs, and services. The product executes billions of synthetic tests monthly from probe locations worldwide and customer-operated private probes, running on Kubernetes across AWS, GCP, and Azure. The role is genuinely full-stack: you'll own features end-to-end from Go backend services and data model design through the execution pipeline to TypeScript/React frontend workflows. You'll design and evolve systems—not just features—contributing to architectural decisions on scheduling, probe lifecycle, telemetry ingestion, and API design that shape product scalability. The team is focused on deeply integrating Synthetic Monitoring into Grafana Cloud, connecting checks to real user experience, enabling AI-assisted workflows, and supporting enterprise-scale operations on both Grafana infrastructure and customer private probes. Key responsibilities include owning features across the full stack, designing systems that scale, building cross-product and AI-assisted workflows, making the product operable at enterprise scale with governance primitives for teams managing hundreds of checks, breaking down complex problems into incremental deliverables, ensuring quality through testing and observability, and participating in on-call rotation. The tech stack is Go, TypeScript, and React, though you'll build tools for users across many stacks. Grafana Labs is a 100% remote, globally distributed company with 1,600+ team members across 40+ countries, backed by leading investors including Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and others. The company is founded on open source, open standards, open ecosystems, and open culture, with customers including Anthropic, Bloomberg, NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Salesforce.
