Grafana Labs is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Synthetic Monitoring squad, which builds and operates a multi-tenant distributed system used globally to proactively verify critical user journeys, APIs, and services. The product executes billions of synthetic tests monthly from probe locations worldwide and customer-operated private probes, running on Kubernetes across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
The role is genuinely full-stack: you will own features end-to-end across the system, from Go backend services and agents through the execution pipeline to TypeScript/React frontend workflows. You'll design and evolve systems—not just features—contributing to architectural decisions on scheduling, probe lifecycle, telemetry ingestion, and API design that shape how the product scales.
Key responsibilities include owning features across the entire stack; designing systems for scheduling, probe lifecycle, and telemetry; building cross-product and AI-assisted workflows that connect Synthetic Monitoring to the wider Grafana Cloud platform; making the product operable at enterprise scale with governance primitives for teams managing hundreds of checks; breaking down complex problems into incremental deliverables; ensuring quality through testing, observability, and documentation; and participating in on-call rotation.
Grafana Labs is a 100% remote, globally distributed company with 1,600+ team members across 40+ countries, backed by leading investors including Sequoia Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, and others. The company is founded on principles of open source, open standards, and open culture. More than 35 million users and 7,000+ customers—including Anthropic, Bloomberg, NVIDIA, Microsoft, and Salesforce—trust Grafana Labs for observability and reliability. The tech stack includes Go, TypeScript, and React, though you'll build tools for users across many stacks.
