Salary: USD 210,000 - 270,000 / annual

Charta Health is building an operating system for modern healthcare organizations. Backed by Bain Capital Ventures, Charta is reimagining healthcare infrastructure to make every healthcare dollar accountable and every chart accurate. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a technical leader responsible for designing and delivering software solutions that directly impact the product and roadmap. You'll work across the full product development lifecycle, from ideation through deployment, making informed decisions about project priorities and technical direction. Key responsibilities include: - Determining team objectives and priorities in collaboration with leadership - Participating in product ideation and development from the outset - Leading product discovery and refinement sessions - Conducting problem analysis and crafting scalable solutions and architectures - Delivering high-quality code with thorough documentation - Ensuring smooth deployment and system reliability You'll need at least 7 years of professional software development experience shipping production code. Fluency in backend languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, or C/C++ is required, with Next.js and React experience a plus. Experience building, testing, and deploying microservices is essential. Distributed systems development and performance optimization experience are highly valued. Familiarity with AWS, PostgreSQL, Docker, and ECS/Kubernetes is a plus. Experience developing or leveraging modern generative AI technologies, including both proprietary and open-source large language models, is a plus. Strong communication skills across engineering, product, and other functional teams are critical.
