The Sports Media Team builds platforms and products that collect, curate, distribute, analyze, and personalize sports data and content.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Sports Media Team, you will design, build, test, and deploy cloud-native solutions serving enterprise customers with billions of API calls per month and hundreds of millions of TV viewers. You'll work on systems that power live game data delivery for top leagues including MLB, NBA, NHL, and NASCAR, where Sportradar owns exclusive data rights including player tracking and optical tracking data. Your work enables developers at companies like Apple, Google, Amazon, Facebook, The Score, and Bleacher Report to build products powered by Sportradar's data, and empowers storytellers at Fox Sports, Bally Sports, CBS Sports, and NBC Sports to create broadcast graphics and analytics seen by millions of fans.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build highly scalable, maintainable, and secure cloud-native solutions
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Design, and DevOps teams
- Partner with architecture and external development teams on service design with clear separation of concerns
- Optimize applications for speed, scale, security, and maintainability
- Participate in code reviews to ensure quality
- Foster collaboration and best practices within your team
The primary tech stack includes JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, AWS (Lambda, DynamoDB, DocumentDB, SQS, EventBridge), and GraphQL, though stack may vary by team.

This is a fully on-site role requiring five days per week in the Montevideo office to foster collaboration and innovation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of professional software development experience designing and building systems
- Experience with data-driven architecture and systems design (RESTful APIs, microservices architecture)
- Experience building scalable, maintainable, reliable production software
- Proficiency with SQL, NoSQL, and in-memory stores at scale
- Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS)
- Experience with CI/CD practices (GitLab/GitHub, CI pipeline automation)
- Proven success in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)
BONUS:
- Strong understanding and production implementation of cloud-native architectures (AWS serverless and/or containers at scale)
