Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced technology. The company develops Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that integrates thousands of data streams into a real-time 3D command and control center.
The Counter Intrusion MSE (Mission System Element) team develops force protection systems that monitor perimeters of secure areas—land or sea—for approaching people, vehicles, and vessels. These systems leverage advanced sensor fusion and autonomy to render environmental activity into Lattice's common operating picture, reducing operator burden and enabling customers to accomplish more with fewer personnel. The team increasingly works on integrating customers' legacy security systems into the Lattice ecosystem, requiring scalable software solutions that serve many customers without bespoke customization.
As a Software Engineer, Sensor Integration, you will own software solutions deployed to customers and write code to improve products and scale mission capability. Your responsibilities include:
- Writing fast, functional, reliable, and robust code for sensor integration
- Integrating sensor nodes into the larger Anduril software stack
- Driving vertical integration and optimization of sensor systems across evolving product and application spaces, coordinating efforts across multiple hardware and software teams
- Supporting existing product deployments in the field, identifying and addressing P0 hardware and software issues
- Partnering with end-users to translate needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints
- Traveling up to 15% of the time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in real-world environments
You will solve a wide variety of problems involving networking, autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and more, ensuring Anduril products work seamlessly together. This role requires a "Whatever It Takes" mindset and pragmatic engineering tradeoffs.
**Requirements:**
- Strong engineering background from industry or school in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
- Strong proficiency in writing software for sensor integration (C++ and Rust)
- 3+ years of experience integrating, designing, developing on, or optimizing remote sensing systems (Radar, Lidar, EO, IR, etc.)
- Experience building software solutions involving significant amounts of data processing and analysis
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases
- Desire to work on critical software with real-world impact
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
